From Instructor Emma Davis, "Ally joined Stroller Strides last year, and has been a smiling face in class ever since. Ally is due with her second little boy in March, and has been consistent in her workouts even nearing the end of her pregnancy. Ally's husband has been deployed for the majority of her pregnancy, yet she still remains positive and energetic while chasing around a toddler all day. She is always there if you need something, or just to bake you a yummy dessert! "
Let's hear more about Ally!
1. Who are the members of your family?
Our family is made up of my husband Garrett, soon to be two year old son Wyatt, a very soon too be here second baby boy, and our family cat Max.
2. What is or was your career?
I am a stay at home mom. As the oldest in a large family I have been taking care of kids long before I became a mom, regularly babysitting since I was 11 and only stopping once Wyatt was born. I have a degree in International Business Management and Spanish but haven't really used them much as I used to write for the community section of a local newspaper and worked for an IT recruiting company.
3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of Savannah and what has it done for you?
I joined stroller strides around Mother's Day 2015. Stroller strides has become a big part of my daily life. We've both made lots of friends, Wyatt gets to hang out with other kids and I've found support and lots of mommy advice. I've been going to classes my entire pregnancy and can say it has helped me in so many ways. This pregnancy has been so much more enjoyable, I feel amazing without any aches or pains or swelling and am completely confident that once this baby is born I'll be able to come back to class and get back into shape!
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
I'm surprised at how much my love grows for my kids everyday and how quickly kids learn new things and grow into their own person.
5. Favorite website(s)?
Amazon (love prime!!!), Etsy, and Pinterest
6. List three current obsessions.
Desserts (thanks Pinterest!)
My sons hugs and snuggles
Candles and fresh flowers
Can I also add all things baby as I prepare for my new little one!
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
I'm not sure his favorite thing but I like to think it's our night time routine. After bath we read stories and discuss our day and I take a few minutes to rock him. We started it when he was about three months old and have continued it ever since. It's really fun because he now will ask for certain books or pick them out himself.
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
It may sound cliché but enjoy every moment good and trying. Babies change so quickly, the hard times never last long (even when it seems it will never end) and it seems each new phase starts and ends without any warning. Even when it seems like you had a terrible day and nothing is going right make sure you kiss your baby goodnight because they are one blessing you have every single day. Don't be afraid to ask for advice, I've found other moms to be the most helpful in finding the perfect solution to whatever may be going on.
