August Mom of the Month: Tammy Aubuchon!

Tammy and her little one Emelia are just a joy to have in class! Tammy joined us back in February of this year and is sweating it out with us almost every Saturday. I love seeing the connections she and her daughter have made through our village and hope those bonds remain strong. Let's hear more about Tammy!

1. Who are the members of your family?

My husband Andrew, myself, our 16 month old daughter Emelia, and our dog Fenway.

2. What is or was your career?

I am a customer service rep at Candler Hospital Wellness Center and I'm a Ceritfied Dietary Manager, so I do some nutrition consults as well!! So if any of you mamma's need some help with that, let me know :)!!!

3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of Savannah and what has it done for you?

I have been a member about 6 months and joining was one of the best things I did. It got me out the house and into a world full of incredible support, great mums, a great workout. and some much needed socialization for my daughter and I. Being a member of this group has kept me sane and grounded, because there is always one or two mothers who have been, or are currently going through the same issues of motherhood as you, and so they are able to offer great advice or suggestions!

4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

One big surprise was and yes very cliche, but how much you can wholeheartedly love another person!! No matter how hard or bad of a day I'm having, I know one little hug or smile from my daughter and everything is okay. I also learned how little sleep I actually need to function during the day.

5. Favorite website(s)?

Carters, Amazon and facebook

6. List three current obsessions.

Shopping for clothes for my daughter, any Housewives episodes on Bravo, and a good lengthening mascara!!

7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?

My daughter absolutely loves playing with my hair, especially after a long day at daycare!! She also loves being chased around the kitchen by either my husband or myself, and when she gets "caught" she just squeals in delight. Nothing beats those giggles!!!

8. Any tips for other moms out there?

Enjoy every second of time with your child!! You blink and your newborn is already a toddler!! Also, don't forget to take time for yourself as well, as a new mother we tend to put ourselves on the back burner and take care of everyone else first, and forget about ourselves. So take some time for you and grab a drink with friends, or a date night with your hubby!!
