From instructor Erin Hanna: "Casey has been such a wonderful addition to our group! She is working so hard and really seeing results since joining us! We are so happy and grateful to have her as part of our tribe!" Let's hear more about Casey!
1. Who are the members of your family?
My little family includes my husband Scott, Emerson who is almost 8 months old and our dog Elliot.
2. What is or was your career?
Before I decided to take on the super hero role of a stay at home Mom I was the director at a preschool in my hometown of Richmond VA. I also taught in a 4 year old classroom at a local preschool when I moved to Savannah.
3. How long have you been a member of Stroller Strides of Savannah and what has it done for you?
I have been a member of Stroller Strides for 6 months. My first class was the day after I got the go ahead from my doctor to start all activity again. Once I was able to start working out again I started to slowly get my "before having a baby" confidence back. It hasn't been easy and there are some days I just feel proud of myself for making it to class on time, but that is what is great about the community of Stroller Strides. You are pushed to do your best and to work hard to achieve your goals but it is in a fun and supportive environment.
4. What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
Before we had Emerson everyone always told us to enjoy the moments even when you are tired or haven't had a shower in 2 days because it all goes by so fast. It really has amazed me how quickly the past 8 months have gone and how everyday is something new and different.
5. Favorite website(s)?
My favorite website would have to be US WEEKLY so I can keep up with all my celebrity gossip and anything Pinterest because one day I will be that super, crafty Mom I think I am.
6. List three current obsessions.
My 3 current obsessions are: Facebook (being a stay at home Mom you can sometimes feel cut off from the world and this makes me feel connected to people), anything having to do with the upcoming Holidays because it will be Emerson's 1st so I am excited to decorate and celebrate with her, TARGET (because every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I have to walk through to get to class and I always need something)
7. What is your child's/children's favorite thing about you or favorite thing that you do?
Every morning when I get Emerson out of bed we sing a good morning song and she laughs and smiles and bounces. Even when I am beyond tired it makes me so happy to see her expression when she realizes we are singing her song!
8. Any tips for other moms out there?
My advice is that everyone is going to have advice and stories for you but you know your baby best. Go with your gut and make your decisions based on what you think is best for your baby and family.
